Page From Your Calendar (NaPoWriMo 2017 #2)

I keep it safe

Tucked in a notebook somewhere

As if it was a note passed in math class

When no one cared what cosines meant

There it lies hidden

Marking a conversation I have long forgotten about

You didn’t give it to me

But the page was yours

From a calendar you turn everyday

And somehow found its way to me

Perhaps as a reminder of something

I know it’s not mine

But perhaps also no longer yours

Stuck in a limbo of doodles, notes and everything else scribbled

Maybe someday it will find its way back to you

When you wonder why a page is missing from your calendar

And you try to remember that day or that page

And somehow think of me
